Events – Coronavirus Edition 2 – Music – 03.27.2020

This is week two of our Coronavirus stay at home events. Staying sane and entertained is paramount in our house so I’ve compiled some fun modern music events for everyone.

Elton John and More – March 29, 9 p.m.

“Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America,” hosted by Elton John and featuring musicians such as Mariah Carey, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Alicia Keys, Tim McGraw, and the Backstreet Boys all playing music in their living rooms, will air on March 29 at 9 p.m. The hour-long show will be a tribute to medical workers and will benefit the First Responders Children’s Foundation and Feeding America.

ACM Presents: “Our Country” – April 5, 8 p.m.

The Academy of Country Music announced that the ACM Awards will be postponed until September 16 due to the Coronavirus. In lieu of that broadcast, there will be home concerts from Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Kane Brown and John Legend, Luke Bryan, Brandi Carlile, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Old Dominion, Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban.

The legendary Kenny Rogers, who was was a 10-time ACM Award winner Kenny Rogers, passed away March 20 and will be honored by Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, and Darius Rucker. Rogers was 81 years old.

Verizon Pay It Forward Live

Verizon is doing just that by launching Pay it Forward Live, a weekly streaming entertainment series that will include music, gaming, comedy and more in support of small businesses affected by COVID-19.

The weekly series debuted on Thursday, March 26, at 8 p.m. with a performance from Dave Matthews. The concerts will stream live on Twitter @verizon and on Yahoo Entertainment Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Garth Brooks is doing live streams on his Facebook page for his fans. The last one was on Monday so stay tuned to his page for more live performances.

Neil Young has announced he will be doing a live stream from his fireplace that will stream at his website and other social media with the exception o Facebook. He has not announced a time so check his page here
