The City of Wheeling announced this afternoon the Hempfield Tunnel near Tunnel Green in East Wheeling has been closed after city employees discovered bricks had fallen from the structure. According to spokesperson Michele Rejonis, a timeline has not yet been developed for the repairs.
Trail users should plan accordingly.
