Five Deaths Confirmed, Search for Four Missing Ends for Evening in Ohio County

A large amount of debris was involved with the flash flooding that took place late Saturday evening in Ohio County.

Flood Response INFORMATION UPDATE

SEARCH AND RECOVERY EFFORTS:
Recovery efforts have concluded for the day. Search teams will resume work at 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 16 in the Elm Grove, Triadelphia and Valley Grove areas by various fire departments and law enforcement agencies.
5 fatalities have been confirmed.
4 people remain unaccounted for.

FLOOD SUPPLIES DISTRIBUTION AREAS
Beginning at 10 a.m., Monday, those impacted by flooding can pick up various supplies – water, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food, paper products, clothes, animal food, etc. –  at two locations:

LOCATION 1: 25 Armory Drive – Wheeling, WV (Rear entrance)
LOCATION 2: Guntry – 45 Caliber Drive – The Highlands, Triadelphia, WV

TETNUS SHOTS:
Shots will be distributed starting at 8:30 a.m., Monday, June 16. No registration is required. Proof of a West Virginia ID is needed. The health department can be reached at 304-234-3682.

ROADS
WVDOT continues to clear debris from various roadways that have been flooded. Please go slow and watch for workers. The Shilling Bridge and Junior Avenue Bridge remain closed to traffic in the city of Wheeling.
