US Olympic Gold Medalist and Dover, Ohio native, Hunter Armstrong signs with Unified Bank. Armstrong has agreed to represent Unified as part of their marketing efforts designed to promote the Bank and to help Unified better serve those in need in the communities they proudly serve.

Armstrong earned his first career gold medal as leadoff swimmer for Team USA in the 4×100 men’s medley relay in Tokyo in the 2021 Summer Olympics. Hunter’s role as a Team player helped push Team USA ahead of Canada for a shot at the gold. Team USA went on to earn the gold medal with a world record time of 3:26.78.

Unified Bank president and CEO, Scott Everson said, “Hunter’s obvious Team spirit and dedication to his craft caught our attention and reminded us of the values to which we are strongly committed and live by at Unified Bank.” Everson added, “Hunter’s genuine kindness and focus on improving the lives of others and the betterment of his community truly mirrors our Unified Way.  Seeing him in action, we knew that we wanted this outstanding young man to be a part of our winning Team and represent our Unified brand!”

Armstrong, a 2019 Dover High School graduate, started swimming early for Dover schools and as a Tuscarawas County YMCA Silver Streak swimmer. He qualified for the US Olympic Team at the US Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska in July of 2021. Hunter attended WVU as a freshman and is now at Ohio State University where he is the first men’s Olympic swimmer from the school since 1956.

Unified has 19 banking centers located in Eastern Ohio and West Virginia, including those located in Dover, New Philadelphia, and Strasburg, which are in Hunter’s home county of Tuscarawas.
