We decided to have an impromptu picnic at my parents’ house.
I had just got back from my daughter’s softball game and had to put something together relatively quickly, and that meant I did not have time to thaw out frozen bread dough to make pepperoni rolls which is my usual go-to. But I did have some canned pizza crust in my refrigerator.
Instead of just making a big pepperoni roll or a Stromboli, I decided to make pinwheels. When I cut them into eight strips and tried to roll one of them up, I realized that it was going to be too big. So, I unrolled it and cut all of the slices in half one more time.
One pizza crust made 16 of these pinwheels.
The process is relatively easy with the only real work being rolling them up. They turned out really cute and super tasty.
Ingredients:
- 1 roll of refrigerated pizza crust
- 1/2 lbs sliced pepperoni
- 8 oz Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Sprinkle of garlic salt
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400.
- Spread out though on parchment paper.
- Add one layer of pepperoni and top with cheese as if you are making a pizza. Using a pizza cutter, cut directly down the middle of the pizza and then cut in between each piece over and over until there are 16 even strips.
- Start at the end closest to you and roll up the dough and toppings until it forms a pinwheel shape.
- Repeat for the rest of the dough and space them out on parchment paper.
- Bake on 400 for 8 minutes.
Enjoy!
