Numerous local organizations benefitted from a series of charitable donations and gift drives contributed to by the Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal (“Kalkreuth”) team this holiday season. Several of the companies’ offices came together to support various causes to help ensure that those in need felt the warmth and joy of the season.
With contributions from employees and attendees at the company’s annual Kaley Christmas Party, Kalkreuth supported The Salvation Army of Wheeling and the Marshall County Animal Shelter. The Salvation Army witnessed a greater need this season than in recent years. In the past two years, donation requests have increased from 386 in 2022 to 579 children in 2024. “These numbers reflect not only the need at Christmas but also throughout the year for utility assistance, rental assistance, and even a larger increase in food assistance requests,” said Lt. John Lawrence of The Salvation Army Wheeling Corps. We are grateful for the support of Kalkreuth and many others who have helped us meet the increased need this year.”
Members of the Kalkreuth team also donated their time to support the Salvation Army’s annual red kettle initiative to help raise funds for local families.
Kalkreuth’s Wheeling offices participated in multiple Angel Tree programs, providing holiday gifts to children in our community through the following organizations:
- Kaley Center (Downton Wheeling): Catholic Charities of Wheeling
- Residential Showroom & Corporate Warehouse (The Highlands): St. John’s Home for Children
- East Coast Metal Systems (The Highlands): Marshall County Girl Scouts
Meanwhile, Kalkreuth’s Columbus office joined WBNS-10TV’s toy drive, collecting toys for their local Salvation Army. The team’s generosity ensured that even more families and children in the Columbus area received gifts this holiday season.
In addition, Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal made a $1,000 donation to Wheeling Middle School, helping the school provide holiday gifts, meals, and essential supplies to families of students facing hardships. Mike McLeod, Communities In School Coordinator, spearheaded the program to provide a joyful holiday experience amid difficult circumstances for Wheeling Middle School students. “Wheeling Middle School is a loyal customer of Kalkreuth and a valued downtown neighbor. We were proud to support them this season,” said Josh Wack, Business Development Manager at Kalkreuth.
Kalkreuth is committed to supporting the communities it serves, and the company’s holiday donation efforts reflect this dedication. In the past year alone, the company donated over $170,000 to support local programs and initiatives. “We’re proud to be a part of these communities and to give back during the holiday season,” said Josh Wack, Business Development Manager at Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal. “Seeing our teams come together to impact those in need positively exemplifies the spirit of the holidays. We hope our efforts will help make this season a little brighter for others.”
