Linsly School Creates Dennis K. Hon Endowed Chair for Mathematics

-

The Linsly School is pleased to announce the creation and initial funding of The Dennis K. Hon Endowed Chair for Mathematics.

Through the generosity of John (’98) & Brynn Bailey and Kermit (’96) & Libby Cook, the Hon Endowed Chair will provide critical faculty salary support and will honor the teaching legacy of Denny Hon, who taught mathematics at The Linsly School for nearly forty years.

Hon was known for his exceptional teaching and his ability to relate to his students, regardless of their capacity for mathematics. Denny was remarkable in his ability to instruct not only those who were mathematically gifted, but also those with less mathematical prowess.

Through his tenure at The Linsly School, Denny Hon provided a firm foundation in mathematics to hundreds of students while simultaneously helping to elevate the Linsly mathematics department. This endowed chair intends to honor his legacy.
