Sheriff Mike Dougherty reports that On March 4, 2024, deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a camping trailer located on Big Grave Creek Road to execute an arrest warrant for Brian Kestner. Upon arrival, the deputies spoke with a woman who claimed that Mr. Kestner was not inside the trailer and that she and another female were present. The deputies requested permission to search the trailer, which was verbally granted.
Once inside, the deputies found a male who initially provided a false name but was recognized by one of the deputies as 35-year-old Thomas Lashare of Moundsville. Lashare continued to lie about his true identity and was subsequently arrested for obstruction of justice. During their interaction, deputies discovered pills identified as Buprenorphine Hydrochloride, a Schedule III drug.
The Marshall County Drug Task Force was notified then, and a magistrate issued a search warrant for the trailer. During the search, deputies found several “stamp” bags containing fentanyl, as well as a stolen vehicle license plate. As a result, Lashare was arrested for possession with intent to distribute and obstructing a law enforcement officer.
He was processed and lodged in the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail pending arraignment. The Drug Task Force also seized the camping trailer.
