Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Assists Federal Agencies in Search Warrant Execution

Cameron, WV – On July 18, 2025, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (A.T.F.) in executing a federal search warrant at 1766 Stulls Run Road, Cameron, WV.

The warrant authorized law enforcement to enter the specified residence to search for devices used for the storage of child pornography, as well as firearms and ammunition.

Upon arrival at the location, the FBI SWAT team used a megaphone to instruct the occupants of the residence to exit and comply. All individuals were detained without incident, and the residence was subsequently cleared for safety so that agents from both the FBI and A.T.F. could conduct their search.

During the investigation, the suspect, identified as Johnny Purdue, informed officers that there was a firearm located in the living room. Subsequently, a total of six firearms were discovered within the residence, where Mr. Purdue currently resides.

Mr. Purdue has a prior conviction for domestic battery, which legally prohibits him from owning or possessing firearms. Following the evidence collection, Mr. Purdue was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Deputies and transported to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and arraigned before Magistrate Allman.

He is currently being held at the Northern Regional Jail, with a bond set at $10,000, payable in cash only.
