A coach.
Miners head coach Josh Resignalo is entering his 19th season of indoor football action and his fifth in the NAL.

New year, new team, new league, and now a new home for season two of the “Through the Wire” podcast.

Josh Resignalo is the general manager and head coach of the Wheeling Miners of the National Arena League and he’ll be live tonight at the Silver Rail Bar & Grill in South Wheeling. The establishment features full menus for food and beverages, often features live and local music, and is home to a number of different billiard and dart leagues throughout the year.

This evening, though, all attention turns to the Wheeling Miners and their upcoming season that begins with “Monday Night Football” at Wesbanco Arena on March 10 (that’s only 47 days away, by the way). The show begins at 6 p.m. and will end sometime after 7 p.m., and tonight’s special guest is wide receiver Pete Savrides.

The Miners were undefeated – 10-0 – last season and won the American Arena League-2 championship with a 61-14 victory over the Peach State Cats. The head coach insisted that the new circuit, the National Arena League, would feature a higher level of action.

An arena.
The Miners faced the Jersey Bobcats a couple of times last season, and ‘Coach Res’ now has a couple of their best players on his roster.

“We’re going to have a very good football team when we debut in March, but you probably won’t see us win our games by the margins we did last year. Last season was our first in Wheeling, and the AAL was a development league to get us going,” Resignalo explained this week on River Talk 100.1/100.9 FM. “We’re excited to be where we are, and we’re going to talk about that during our first show at the Silver Rail.”

“Coach Res” said along with his standout wide receiver on the phone, those in attendance will have the chance to win several giveaways and have the chances to meet coaches Jim Meunier and Jeff Blumenauer.

The Silver Rail Bar & Grill is located at 222 29th Street, and the show will take place on the stage in the rear of the venue. “The Rail” opens at 3 p.m. each day, and the menu offers burgers, wings, a number of appetizers and sandwiches, and pizza.

Ticket packages for the Miners’ season can be found here. Each podcast will be re-broadcast on RAGE 96.5 FM on Fridays at 6 p.m.
