The filing period for those wishing to run for Mayor or City Council in the May 2024 election is Jan. 8-27. Candidates can file to run for office in the City Clerk’s office, 1500 Chapline Street, Room 303. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note the office will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
On Saturday, Jan. 27 – the final day to file – candidates will be able to do so from 8:30 a.m. – noon in City Council Chambers on the first floor of the City-County Building, 1500 Chapline Street.
A filing fee of $50, payable by cash or check, is due upon filing. Checks should be made payable to the City of Wheeling.
