It’s now. Right now. Pumpkin spice time, that is. It’s right now.

It’s flippin’ frosty outside – turtleneck season indeed for yours truly – and it seems to turn dark outside just after we get out of bed these days. Baseball is over, Halloween was fun, and now there’s football on TV every night.

That’s why, these days, the taste of pumpkin spice connects with any kind of comfort food this time of year, and it goes with everything on the Thanksgiving table. Especially with that yummy, fluffy topping.

That’s not true in August, folks, and yet, there it is, all over social media. Pumpkin Spice everything. From cereal and Pop Tarts to Peeps and Twinkies. Thank The Lord Snopes.com reported Oscar Mayer Pumpkin Spice Bologna is fake or a little bit of faith in humankind’s sanity would have been lost.  

OK, just so we all understand, our annual Pumpkin Spice period begins in October (and not because YOUR summer vacation is over and the kids have to go back to school in mid-August) and lasts as long as there’s a distinct chill in the air, but once daytime temperatures are in the 70s Fahrenheit, POOF! goes the Pumpkin Spice.
