OCPL Welcoming Public to Lunch with Books

A Note from the Staff of the Ohio County Public Library:

An important announcement regarding the return to in-person programs.

Dear Patrons: Thank you for our support of our livestream programs during the past year. Rest assured that we will continue to broadcast all future programs live on our Facebook and YouTube channels.

In addition, however, the upcoming June 22 at noon program featuring Robin Yocum (see below) will also be our first in-person Lunch With Books program since March 2020. Robin will be here Tuesday at noon. Patrons who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 are welcome to join us in the auditorium per the state of West Virginia’s guidelines. We do encourage you to take advantage of the full space available when choosing your seats.

Please note: The current People’s University Series on Bugs & People, which runs through July 15, will continue to be a livestream-only broadcast.

Please check our website for updates regarding future programs.

Again, if you prefer, the livestream broadcasts will remain an option, as will recorded versions of the programs.

June 22 @ LWB Livestream: The Sacrifice of Lester Yates (novel) with Robin Yocum

A new political thriller from the author of bestselling novel The Essay, The Sacrifice of Lester Yates is about the notorious Egypt Valley Strangler, one of the country’s most prolific serial killers. Or, is he? Yates is two months from his date with the executioner when Ohio Attorney General Hutch Van Buren is presented with evidence that could exonerate him.

But Yates is a political pawn…Regional author Robin Yocum has been compared with E. Annie Proulx for his authenticity of place, and Elmore Leonard for his well-laid plots and perfect pacing. The Sacrifice of Lester Yates is Yocum at his best: suspenseful, political, and smart.
