OCS Opens 2025-26 Pre-K and K Enrollment with 5-Day Availability

One of the best places a young child can play, grow, and learn is in a classroom.  Ohio County Schools houses or oversees nearly 20 pre-k sites and 9 kindergarten sites.  Excitingly, for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, Ohio County Schools will now offer a full week public pre-k opportunity.

For the last several years, OCS has operated on a 4-day-a-week pre-k model, but this new opportunity will allow for young learners who turn 4 on or before the cut-off of June 30th to learn during a 5-day-a-week model.

Some sites will even mirror similar hours to standard K-5 school allowing for ease with pick up and drop off times for sibling groups, and our collaborative pre-k options (Noah’s Ark, King’s Daughters, and Holy Family) all maintain affordable before-care and after-care options for children.  In addition to collaboratives, OVCLC, located in Warwood, will continue to offer before-care and after-care options for children attending Warwood Elementary.

For the first time in nearly 20 years, Ohio County Schools will now have the ability to offer our littlest learners more time in the classroom!

Registration for OCS Pre-K and Kindergarten opens on January 15th.  To register, head to the OCS BOE website and fill out the registration form or call the designated hotline number provided the day registration opens.
