Interstate 70 Projects
I-70/State Route 149 interchange improvement: Work is underway on the major interchange project at the I-70 Exit 208 for SR 149/Morristown. During construction, one lane of traffic will be maintained on I-70. Traffic impacts for SR 149 will begin in the fall of 2026. U.S. Route 40 Projects
U.S. Route 40 resurfacing: Work is underway on a project to resurface eleven miles of U.S. Route 40 from Ladybend Hill (at I-70, mile marker 204), working east, ending on the western end of St. Clairsville. Traffic is maintained with flaggers during construction. The completion date is September 30, 2026.
Other State Route Projects
State Route 9 closure north of St. Clairsville: July 13-24, SR 9 will close from the north end of St. Clairsville to Deerfield Drive for multiple culvert replacements. Traffic will be detoured via U.S. 40 west to SR 331 north, SR 331 north back to SR 9, and reverse.
State Route 148 closure west of Armstrong Mills: SR 148 is closed to traffic 1.5 miles west of Armstrong Mills at the bridge over the Captina Creek for emergency bridge repairs. The duration of the closure is currently unknown. However, ODOT will share an update as soon as new information is available. Learn more about the closure.
State Route 147 resurfacing: A project to resurface eight miles of roadway from Barnesville to Belmont. The work will begin in Barnesville, continue east through Bethesda, and end just west of Belmont. Traffic is maintained with flaggers. The completion date is September 30, 2026.
State Route 149 culvert repair: A project to repair a culvert located west of Neffs Bellaire Road. Minimal impacts to traffic will occur during construction. However, flaggers will be utilized as needed throughout the project. The completion date is July 31, 2026.
