ODOT Project Updates – Belmont County

The following ODOT construction projects are anticipated to impact traffic in Belmont County. All outlined work is weather permitting. Visit OHGO.com for travel updates or follow ODOT District 11 on Facebook or X for current Belmont County construction information.

Interstate 70 Projects

I-70/State Route 149 interchange improvement: Work is underway on the major interchange improvement project at the I-70 Exit 208 for SR 149/Morristown. I-70 currently has two lanes open in both directions. Future traffic impacts for SR 149 will begin in 2027. For details about the project and all traffic impacts, visit the project webpage. Estimated Completion: 2029

U.S. Route and State Route Projects

State Route 7 southbound lane closure: September 28-October 7, SR 7 will be reduced to one lane of traffic just south of the Picoma Road Exit for bridge repair work. Estimated Completion: October 13, 2026

State Route 148 bridge repair: Repair the bridge carrying SR 148 over the North Fork Captina Creek, about three miles east of SR 800. During construction, SR 148 will be reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals. Estimated Completion: October 31, 2027

U.S. Route 40 resurfacing: A project to resurface 11 miles of U.S. Route 40 from Ladybend Hill (at I-70, mile marker 204) east to the western end of St. Clairsville. Flagging will maintain traffic during construction. Estimated Completion: September 30, 2026

State Route 147 slide repair: A project to stabilize two slopes along State Route 147 west of Key. The work zone spans from Wegee Road to Tiber Road. Temporary traffic signals maintain traffic. Estimated Completion: October 31, 2026
