
WHEELING, WV – Oglebay is going to the dogs—and we couldn’t be more excited! Gather your pups, family, and friends and head to Oglebay on Saturday, September 6 for a tail-wagging good time at Paws in the Park, a full day of activities dedicated to celebrating our furry companions.
This pet-friendly event offers something for every dog lover, from outdoor adventure to splashy fun, police K9 demonstrations, and even a visit from some of your favorite characters.
Event Highlights Include:
Best Friend Hike – 9:00 a.m. at Schenk Lake Boathouse
Kick off your morning with a refreshing, guided hike along Oglebay’s scenic and historic trails—tailor-made for you and your four-legged sidekick.
Drool at the Pool – 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Crispin Center Pool
Presented by Dirty Paws Pet Care Service of Wheeling, this fan-favorite event invites dogs to take a dip during the final hours of the summer swim season. A $10 donation per dog is requested, with all proceeds supporting the animals at the zoo. Participants must sign an Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability Agreement and provide proof of current rabies, CPV, CDV, and CVAvaccinations.
K9 Action & PAW Patrol Meet & Greet – 1:00 p.m. at the Crispin Center Patio
Head over to the Crispin Center Patio for a double dose of dog-themed fun. Watch Wheeling’s K9 police unit in action as local officers demonstrate the incredible training and skills of their canine partners. Plus, little ones will have the chance to meet their favorite PAW Patrol characters—so don’t forget your cameras for some paw-sitively adorable photo ops.
