Get ready for a month of festive fright and fun at the annual “Boo at the Zoo” event, returning to Oglebay Good Zoo starting October 4. This beloved fall fundraiser, presented by the Wheeling Dairy Queens and Hartley Law Group, PLLC, will enchant ghouls and goblins of all ages every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout October.

We’re thrilled to also announce the return of the “Year for Zoo and DQ Giveaway,” courtesy of the Wheeling Dairy Queens. Each weekend, one lucky child will win a year’s supply of mini blizzards and a zoo membership. Don’t miss your chance to win this fang-tastic prize!

Children, aged 3 to 12, are invited to wear their favorite costumes, grab their treat bags, and visit themed treat stations along the zoo’s outdoor walking path. The event will also feature a range of exciting activities, including a spooky train ride, the Jumbo Jumper™ Air Pillow, and a low ropes course.

Event Details:

Dates and Times:

  • Fridays: 5–8 p.m.
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 11 a.m.–8 p.m.

Barry Boyd of the Wheeling Dairy Queens said, “We’re thrilled to sponsor Boo at the Zoo, a fantastic event that brings joy and lasting memories to Ohio Valley families, both now and for future generations. And we’re excited for the kids to take part in the costume contest for a chance to win a year’s worth of zoo and DQ.”

The Good Zoo’s festive pathways will be adorned with creative decorations provided by Fort Henry Capital, Huntington Bank, Mull State Farm Insurance, Our Lady of Peace, Panhandle Cleaning & Restoration, WesBanco, Wheeling Country Day School and Wheeling Hospital Auxiliary.

Dean Hartley of Hartley Law Group, PLLC remarked, “Oglebay’s ‘Boo at the Zoo’ has become a cherished tradition in the Ohio Valley. We’re proud to sponsor this year, as families love this trick-or-treat experience and get to learn about the wonderful work being done at the zoo.”

Proceeds from “Boo at the Zoo” support the care and conservation of Good Zoo animals.
