Oglebayfest Returns October 3-5 with Parades, Fireworks, and Family Fun

WHEELING, WV – Autumn’s biggest tradition in the Ohio Valley is back. The 48th annual Oglebayfest, presented by WVU Medicine, takes place October 3–5, 2025, bringing a weekend packed with parades, fireworks, live music, and community spirit.

Festival Highlights

  • Parade & Fireworks – Saturday kicks off with a colorful parade at 9:30 a.m. from the Good Zoo, followed by a dazzling fireworks show over Schenk Lake at 8:30 p.m.
  • Phil Maxwell Artists’ & Gourmet Market – Stroll Mansion Woods to explore regional foods, artisan goods, live demos, and nonstop entertainment.
  • Beer, Brats & Music – At the German-style Rathskeller, enjoy seasonal brews, traditional fare, and the fan-favorite Stein Holding Competition on Saturday night.
  • Oglebayfest 0.5K Beer Dash – Sunday at Schenk Lake, race (carefully) with beer in hand. Registration includes a souvenir mug and two drinks.
  • Ohio County Country Fair – A nod to tradition with homegrown foods, quilts, farm animals, and quirky contests like hog calling and rock throwing.

“Generations of families return to Oglebayfest year after year,” said Wheeling Park Commission President & CEO Bob Peckenpaugh. “It’s a celebration of community, tradition, and the beauty of fall at Oglebay.”

Oglebayfest also features live music across multiple stages, children’s activities like the Little Sprouts planting program, and convenient free parking with shuttle service throughout the park.
