Ohio County Archery to Host Annual ‘Shot in the Park’ Tournament

-

Over 300 archers from the tri-state area are headed to the Palace on the Hill starting Friday, 4/18.

Ohio County Archery is scheduled to host their annual “Shot in the Park” tournament at Wheeling Park High School.  Originally scheduled in January, the tournament had to be rescheduled due to inclement weather.  The two day tournament begins Friday at 6:00 P.M. and will offer both bullseye and 3D competitive options for archers.

Saturday’s options mirror the same set up with the doors opening at 10 a.m. “We have top-notch archers registered,” states Rick Thomas, retired OCS teacher and current head archery coach.  “Both Ohio and WV are sending state champion archers.  This is also an opportunity to recognize our hard-working seniors.  Our CTE program also made amazing “Top Shot” awards for competitors,” Thomas adds.

Children have free entry and adults are $5.00.  The archery program is a point of pride in our county appealing to a variety of students at various programmatic levels.
