SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS MINIMUM
Shawn R. Turak, Prosecuting Attorney, announces that on September 29, 2026, Sean Lee Colvin, 41, of Wheeling, plead guilty to First Degree Sexual Assault.
Colvin was arrested July 21, 2026, after an investigation by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department. The victim was between the ages of 7 and 12 when he was sexually abused by Colvin, who was known to the family of the victim.
The Honorable David J. Sims, Judge of the First Judicial Circuit Court sentenced to Colvin to not less than twenty-five (25) nor more than one hundred (100) years and a fine of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars.
Prosecuting Attorney Turak noted, “I strongly believe the defendant will not be released to parole and will likely remain incarcerated until his natural death. I know that this gives the victim and his family some degree of comfort. This has been traumatic for many involved and I am hopeful that the finality and certainty that today’s court proceedings bring will ease the healing process.”
