Ohio County Schools Bus Drivers are Set to Test Their Skills  

Ohio County Schools bus drivers will be put to the test on Aug. 22 during a challenging event.  

The OCS Transportation Department’s annual School Bus Safety ROAD-e-o will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Aug. 22 in the parking lot of the Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack. During the ROAD-e-o, bus drivers are required to perform driving-skill maneuvers under various conditions and in tight quarters.  

According to the West Virginia Association for Pupil Transportation, The School Bus Safety ROAD-e-o is an important part of West Virginia Department of Education Policy, as it provides in-service training and skill development in an environment in which drivers can practice skills, have fun and engage with fellow transportation family members.  

Ohio County Schools would like to thank the management of Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack for allowing the Ohio County School Transportation Department the use of the parking lot to always school system drivers to enhance their driving skills.
