Ohio County Schools Recognized for Energy Efficiency

-

Ohio County Schools received incredible news regarding its energy efficiency at Monday’s meeting of the Ohio County Board of Education.

CMTA Energy Solutions Project Manager Jon Gasser and Engineer Preston French spoke at the meeting. They informed board members of energy-efficiency upgrades at a number of schools. Gasser announced to board members that Elm Grove Elementary School, Middle Creek Elementary School, Woodsdale Elementary School, the Board of Education Office, Madison Elementary School, Steenrod Elementary School, Wheeling Middle School and Wheeling Park High School have earned Energy Star awards for having an Energy Star rating of 75 percent or more.

Both Gasser and French presented board members and Ohio County Schools administrators with awards that will be displayed at the winning facilities.

Gasser noted that Elm Grove has an Energy Star rating of 100, and Middle Creek Elementary School has an Energy Star rating of 99. He said he believes all of the school system’s facilities will ultimately earn Energy Star awards as energy-efficiency improvements continue throughout the school system.

Ohio County Schools Superintendent Kimberly Miller told the board that the school system has been in partnership with CMTA for three years. She commended CMTA for the improvements that have been made in all of the schools.

“I couldn’t be more proud to work with this company,” Miller said.
