The outstanding artistic talents of Ohio County Schools students will be on display at the school system’s annual “Celebration of the Arts.”
Ohio County Schools will host the “Celebration of the Arts” at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at Wheeling Park High School. Displays and performances will take place in the new Innovative Learning Center and the school’s foyer. Ohio County Schools Superintendent Kimberly Miller said the arts are an important part of the curriculum at each grade level, and the artwork produced by students is a source of pride throughout Ohio County Schools.
“The artistic talent in Ohio County Schools is exceptional, and that’s why we put it on display,” Miller said. “Fine and performing arts are such an important part of education, and we want the community to see how talented our students are. This is a showcase of the talent and creativity of our students, and that’s why ‘Celebration of the Arts’ is such an exciting event. We want our parents to see how gifted these students truly are. I hope everyone can attend to witness how accomplished these young people are as musicians, painters, sculptors and performers.”
This year’s lineup includes a number of solo and ensemble vocal and instrumental performances by Wheeling Park High School students and also Ohio County Schools middle and elementary school students. Student artwork will be on display, and students will also be creating art throughout the event.
