Ohio Route 148 Reopens West of Armstrong Mills

State Route 148 is now open to all traffic 1.5 miles west of Armstrong Mills.

The roadway was closed May 29 after a routine inspection revealed a dip on the left side of the bridge over Captina Creek. Out of an abundance of caution, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) closed the bridge in both directions to conduct a thorough safety evaluation.

Over the last six weeks, ODOT has performed extensive investigative work, including surveys, soil borings, and stability testing. The evaluations confirmed that the bridge is safe for travel and that no repairs are required at this time.

ODOT will continue to monitor the bridge closely.
