Home Cooking with Jess – Pretzel Beer Cheese

Since the Super Bowl is right around the corner, I think it’s time you learn how to pretzel. And, of course, with pretzels comes beer cheese.

Home Cooking with Jess – Mini Subs

I am honored each year to have friends reach out to me and ask for recipes for the big game. I make torturous posts of my tailgate feast on Facebook and make them to droll all season long, so I'm happy to help out when they need a recipe.

Home Cooking with Jess – Reuben Egg Rolls

For the “possibly” last Steelers game of the season, I tend to dive deep into my freezer to see what appetizer-specific ingredients I have and I make a pretty large spread just in case we don’t make it...

Home Cooking with Jess – Crescents

When I first started making tailgate spreads eight-or-so years ago, crescent rolls were a staple item. Imagine any dip you like rolled up and baked into a buttery crescent roll! So good.

Home Cooking with Jess – Italian Sausage

I’m lucky to have many good family traditions around the holidays. I make Thanksgiving for an average of 10 family members. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, noodles, sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, rolls, cranberries, and this year I added...

Home Cooking with Jess – Chicken Dip

Throwing bone-in chicken into a crockpot for the day is a regular occurrence in my house. Not a whole chicken. Just breast or thighs.

I used the imitation crab meat to save on cost. The recipe I’ll share is for jalapeño popper wontons, but I really think there are a lot of different dips you could put in the wonton wrappers and they’re all going to be pretty delicious.

Home Cooking with Jess

My kids don’t eat 75 percent of the food I cook. I made them homemade macaroni & cheese and they took one bite and begged for “easy mac.”

Home Cooking with Jess

I’m a minimalist when it comes to ingredients. When I make five or six different dishes for tailgate spreads on Sundays, the last thing I want is a counter full of 50 ingredients.

Home Cooking with Jess – Tailgating

I am not a chef. I am a mediocre home cook, but when it comes to tailgate style food, I’m an expert in putting together minimal ingredient, less expensive, delicious snacks. Pittsburgh Steelers football is a tradition in my family and...
