WHEELING, W.Va. — Oglebay Park Resort invites dogs and their families to enjoy a day of play, connection and outdoor adventure during the annual Paws in the Park event on Saturday, September 12.
Paws in the Park celebrates the special bond between people and their dogs with a full day of dog-friendly experiences. Guests can explore Oglebay’s historic trails with their canine companions, let their pups make a splash in the Crispin Center outdoor pool and connect with fellow dog lovers throughout the day.
Event Highlights include:
Best Friend Hike | 9 AM
Location: Schenk Lake Boathouse
The day begins with a guided hike through Oglebay’s scenic and historic trails. Guests are invited to bring their dogs along for a morning of fresh air, exploration and time together in the park.
Drool at the Pool | 11 AM-1 PM
Location: Crispin Center Outdoor Pool
Presented by Dirty Paws Pet Care Service of Wheeling, Drool at the Pool gives dogs the chance to make a splash at Crispin Center outdoor pool during the final hours of the swimming season. A $10 donation per dog is requested, with proceeds benefiting the animals at Oglebay Good Zoo. Participants are required to sign an Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability Agreement and provide proof of current rabies, CPV, CDV and CVA vaccinations.
K9 Meet & Greet | 1 PM
Location: Crispin Center Patio
Paws in the Park concludes with a special meet and greet with Wheeling’s K9 unit. Guests are invited to stop by the Crispin Center Patio to meet local officers and their canine partners, and wrap up a day dedicated to celebrating dogs at Oglebay.
