President of the Wheeling Board of Realtors Secures Critical Aid for Flooded Families

Wheeling, WV — July 1, 2025 — In the aftermath of the devastating June 14th floods that damaged homes and uprooted lives across Ohio and Marion counties, the West Virginia Association of Realtors (WVAR) with the Wheeling Board of Realtors are humbled to announce the receipt of a $100,000 disaster relief grant from the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) Realtors Relief Foundation (RRF

This vital funding is dedicated to helping local families recover by providing support for housing-related expenses such as emergency repairs, temporary rentals, or hotel stays due to displacement. The Relief Foundation, which was created in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, continues to be a trusted source of hope and shelter for those impacted by natural disasters nationwide.

“When we see our neighbors hurting, we show up,” said Shelley Crake, President of the Wheeling Board of Realtors. “This grant is more than just financial help—it’s a message that you are not alone. The real estate community across the country is standing with West Virginia families during this difficult time.”

Where and When to Apply for Help

To make sure families can easily apply, Realtors will be on-site to help complete applications this week:

Locations:
– Triadelphia Community Center at 4453 National Road, Triadelphia, WV 26059
– Valley Grove Community Center at 8566 National Road, Valley Grove, WV 26060

Dates & Times for both locations:
– July 2nd & 3rd: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
– July 4th: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Assistance is available to cover:
– Mortgage payments
– Temporary rental housing
– Hotel reimbursements due to displacement
