Republican Joe Eddy Announces Candidacy for West Virginia State Senate

(Wheeling, W.Va.) – Joe Eddy today announced his candidacy to seek the Republican nomination for the West Virginia State Senate in the First Senatorial District.

Joe, the former President and CEO of Eagle Manufacturing Company in Wellsburg, spent 45 years working in the energy and manufacturing industries with a focus on job creation and fiscal responsibility. These traits drove his decision-making as a business leader and are critical to West Virginia’s future growth.

“Throughout my career, I’ve been a job creator, a problem solver, and a dedicated leader committed to giving back. But the most important thing I bring is a steadfast love for this region and this state – and a strong faith in its future,” Joe said during his announcement.

“As a lifelong West Virginian, a business leader, and a conservative Republican, I have devoted much of my career to strengthening our communities, creating opportunity, and upholding the values that define this great Mountain State,” Joe said.  Joe is a frequent speaker, writer, and advisor on energy, manufacturing, and economic development across the country.

Joe promises to bring a strong, independent voice to Charleston – one that protects and uplifts those who value hard work, family, and community. Economic revitalization, education, workforce development, and healthcare are pillars of his campaign.

“I am driven by my desire to be a partner for those in the Northern Panhandle who want to move West Virginia forward, and will be a voice for our conservative values, guided by my faith and my experiences,” Joe said.

Joe has served on numerous national, state and local boards, including the West Virginia Manufacturers Association, the National Association of Manufacturers, the Regional Economic Development Partnership, the West Virginia Northern Community College Foundation, and the West Virginia Economic Development Authority.

In 2017, he was recognized for his leadership in American manufacturing when he was invited to the White House to meet with President Trump and other business leaders from across the country. Joe was inducted into the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame in 2022.

Joe and his wife Debbie live in Wheeling.
