WHEELING, W.Va. — June 30, 2026 — The Rotary Club of Wheeling has donated $15,000 to the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) to support ongoing flood recovery efforts in Ohio County.
The contribution will be directed toward the Foundation’s flood relief fund, helping local families rebuild after June 2025 severe flooding impacted the region.
The donation reflects the Rotary Club of Wheeling’s longstanding commitment to strengthening the local community, particularly in times of crisis. Club members identified flood recovery as an urgent need following widespread damage to homes, roads, and small businesses across Ohio County. This donation includes a grant from the Rotary District as well as proceeds from a club raffle held in the spring.
“We were pleased that Rotary District 7545 supported our work with a matching grant, helping our local dollars go further” said Jamie Crow, President, Rotary Club of Wheeling.
The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley has been partnering with the Long Term Disaster Recovery Group by distributing funds to families and organizations directly affected by the flooding, covering needs such as temporary housing, appliances, HVAC, and rebuilding costs.
“This gift will help us continue to provide support to flood survivors who, even a year after the event, are still recovering,” said Susie Nelson, Executive Director, Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley.
