Santorine: ‘Thank You, Elon’

I find not only the lies being told by the Left about the Department of Government Efficiency remarkable, but the number of people who believe and repeat the lies offered astounding.

If I were to cover all the lies being told, I would be writing a tome – hundreds of pages – and I would not even scratch the surface of the bold-faced lies and complete fabrications offered by the Left.

Let’s get some of these out of the way:

  1. None of the DOGE team is interested in your tax return. They are interested in BIG items. Minimum blip they have time to look at is hundreds of millions.
  2. No, they are not going to personally profit from any of this.
  3. No, the goal is not to destroy Social Security. It is to make it stronger.
  4. Yes, there will be a reduction in force for government employees.
  5. Elon Musk was the founder of Tesla. He currently owns a little less than 13% of the company.
  6. The Left is taking great glee in attempting to destroy the jobs of over 100,000 Tesla employees.
  7. Many on the Left seem to forget their pensions are holding Tesla stock.
  8. Unprecedented transparency – look at their X handle or at https://www.doge.gov/

When it comes to the altruism of the DOGE team, I know their aim to be true because of the people involved. They are multi-millionaires and a couple of billionaires taking time away from their lucrative careers to give back to their country, because none of their economic miracles would have been possible anywhere else on the planet.

They also know this simple fact- a bankruptcy of the United States of America is going to hurt you and me a lot more than it will affect them, and it will prevent future generations from having access to the freedom to create their own economic miracle.

A bankruptcy of the United States of America will make us as miserable and mediocre as Europe.

Why are these titans of the new economy bringing their considerable skills to our government?

After you have amassed a certain amount of wealth, it’s not about the money. It’s about keeping score and you get to spend your time doing really cool projects, the relentless pursuit of knowledge, and giving back.

You’ve likely walked into a Carnegie Library. How about anything Benedum. J. Paul Getty. Ford.  Hewlett. Captains of industry who, decades after their passing, are still relevant because they gave back financially, and of themselves. For the DOGE team, it’s about spending time with highly motivated and capable peers, a seemingly insurmountable challenge, and securing their place in history.

If you had enough wealth that you and your successive generations would be well taken care of, would you risk it all for $100? How about for $1,000? $10,000? $100,000? $1,000,000?

No rational man with wealth would consider fooling with the peanuts of your tax return for a heartbeat. They got to where they are by being truthful, forthright and transparent. Most of them were senior management in publicly traded corporations, and know the scrutiny heaped upon them by the Securities Exchange Commission.

They are amazed by the waste and potential for fraud in the government’s bureaucratic system that could not care less. The DOGE team cares because it’s OUR money that is being squandered. Our productive output is being perverted by government bureaucracy and is wasted.

Your personal data is more likely to be stolen and sold by some 19-year-old IRS information technology person who has the same access DOGE does, but has a crack problem that he can’t afford. Or the bureaucrat who plans on retiring and going to work for a consulting company which is only really interested in what the bureaucrat can carry out with them.

That’s where fraud surrounding your personal information will occur. That is the weak link.

In the private sector, an audit is a check on what you are doing. It makes certain that your company is operating ethically and keeps management on a righteous and narrow path. Failing an audit in the private sector is likely a career-ending occurrence.

There are few government audits, and there are quite literally no consequences to failing one.  The Department of the Interior and the Department of Defense have not passed one in decades yet no one seems to know or care. I’m supremely confident that DOGE will find hundreds of billions of waste in their respective budgets.

The number of bureaucratic careers ended by gross fiscal malfeasance with our money? None, of course. For once, our government has a team they could never afford, doing the thankless job of auditing the books, and more importantly the processes.

It’s a dream team. The best of the best. If it were not for this time in history, you could never put this team together. They are being led by “Coach” Elon Musk.

Musk, a man of humble beginnings who has amassed a following of supremely talented individuals and through superior leadership has built incredible wealth. Yes, he’s a little bit arrogant. He’s allowed to be.

The DOGE team he has put together is superb, and they are finding stunning levels of fraud and abuse.

The fraudsters are complaining the loudest about the sanitizer of light being shined upon their dirty deals. Dirty political appointees doing sleazy deals with your money, and it benefits them, and their political protectors. All the while their political enablers are looking to increase your taxes.

Business people who are good operators invite audits because they document they are good and proper, and provides information that helps them manage.

Crooks hate audits for exactly the same reasons. They uncover their fraud, their thievery and kickbacks. Every time a politician is screaming about DOGE and their audit, know this – they have something to hide.

Harry S. Truman once said “you can’t get rich in politics unless you’re a crook.”

Submitted for your consideration are a self-admitted, paycheck-to-paycheck bartender who now – after just six years in Congress – has amassed a $13 million net worth, and a Senator who routinely out performs Wall Street with their investments. You or I would be jailed for insider trading.

They get re-elected.

Measure their outrage against their misdeeds. We the People voted for major reform, and we are getting it quickly and efficiently from people who are above reproach in their reason for performing this truly unpleasant task. Musk has indicated that his work is nearly done, and he will be stepping away from DOGE after 130 total days.

Thank you, Elon, for doing amazing things for your adopted country.

You need to thank him as well.
