It’s amazing how quickly things can change. This last week, with the heinous murder of Charlie Kirk, the mood of the nation has shifted precipitously, and not for the better.
We all know there are people on the Left who will choose not to modify their approach and will always be preaching hard hate. Those who don’t have “guard rails” for their behavior will take the hate and turn it into murderous violence.
The left has embraced extreme rhetoric and extreme hate.
In business, aspiring managers are taught to be hard on the problem and not on the people. You don’t correct a problem by berating the people. You do so by correcting the problem itself. It’s why the old cliche about “the beatings will continue until morale improves” is so funny.
Who would have thought the beatings were the problem? Just about everyone. The Left is hard on the people, and they aren’t even aware of the problem, but they will insist that the solution to the problem is going to take more of your tax dollars.
And it’s your dollars they will hand out to their friends and sycophants.
The Left might allege fascism, but they can’t even spell it correctly, and their ability to define it is in serious question. Hard on the people is something at which they excel. Name any left-of-center senator or congressman, and they are insulting the character of a centrist or Republican of their choice.
They make no references to the problem or their allegedly superior solution, but instead spew hate and rhetoric against their opposition. It’s a sure-fire way to ensure a deadlock, and that nothing good for the people happens.
We need to fix this and elect officials who commit to solving problems as opposed to just spewing hate. I hope there is still time before it all degenerates to another revolution, which is what the Democrat Left is trying to ferment.
We all know that they have been attacking our institutions for years. Schools, churches. scouting. All kinds of organizations that provide young people a reference point. Someone beyond Mom, Dad, and grandparents that have high expectations of them.
Aspirational demands that keep them from deciding they need to change their gender or to go out and shoot a revered conservative pundit who has different beliefs. You know those beliefs that were created in video games or in an echo chamber with other rudderless youth who lack dreams for their future. The result of years of destroying the American dream.
If they are willing to murder those whose political speech they don’t like, what are they willing to do to those with different religious beliefs?
It’s the start of a very slippery slope.
I know I had those who touched me and expected more from me. Teachers. Scout leaders. Pillars of the community who made time for me. What I refer to as my “Dad’s WWII buddies” which was quite literally anyone who served. They had standards to which they aspired and expected the same or better from those around them. Because they cared. I cared. My friends and fraternity brothers from college. My Professors and Instructors.
I cared what they thought and wanted them to think more of me.
All of which set a high bar of standards for me to live up to.
Standards that resulted in my reputation – a reputation that is as important to me as my next breath. My concern was never the police. I worried about what my Dad was going to say, and what the community would say.
We have lost that, and I believe it’s a big reason that we have more school shootings. School shootings and political assassinations are completely premeditated. It’s not a moment of passion. They are planned, and then the perpetrator needs to go out of their way to murder. It’s the evilest crime imaginable.
By destroying the institutions that provided people with reasonable touch points to keep their evil and violent proclivities in check, we have put our entire civilization at risk. Until we get back to respecting the individual and instilling the primacy of reputation, I’m frightened that the insanity will continue.
As a country, our collective psyche is not in a good place.
I’m laying fault for the murder of Charlie Kirk where it belongs, in front of the Leftist Progressive Democrats. This is what their “forward progress” has brought us. Inclusivity without exclusivity. All are included in the chaos where each rudderless youth gets to lash out in the worst possible way.
The Left has muted American Exceptionalism. It’s affecting individual exceptionalism. The shooting of school students, politicians, and effective pundits will continue until we, in unison with the Left, do something about it.
Our legal system will deal with the people who commit violence; it’s up to us to address the core cause of the problem. We must be hard on the problem.
