While summer is set to enter the home stretch and will begin ramping down toward fall, the fun and activities slated for the St. Clairsville Amphitheater and grounds are anything but.
Saturday begins a multi-week span of family-friendly events available to both residents and beyond. Belmont Savings Bank, the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the St. Clairsville Parks and Rec department are sponsoring Keep It Cool Summerfest.
It’s another free event at the amphitheater featuring live music, food trucks, plus activities for the kids.
“It should be a really cool event,” said St. Clairsville Recreation Director Eric Gay. “We’ll have a couple of food vendors here, we’ll have some things for the kids. It should be a good night.
“Both of the bands are awesome.”
The event gets underway at 5 p.m. with Radio Tokyo taking the amphitheater stage first from 5:45-7:15 p.m. They will be followed by Let’s Groove Tonight, the nation’s No. 1 Earth, Wind, and Fire tribute band at 8 p.m.
Ohio Valley Airsoft is also returning after another successful showing at the community day for the 4th of July.
But that’s not all that’s planned for the coming weeks.
ARC of Ohio Returns
The following Saturday, the Arc of Ohio is presenting its annual Everyone’s Got Talent talent show and festival, starting at 11 a.m.
There’s no cost to enter and following the talent competition, there will be live music starting at 5 p.m.
Food truck staples including Chef’s Table on Wheels, Paleonardo’s, and MaryJane’s Bakery, along with DiCarlo’s Pizza, The Lemonade Guys, Ohio Valley Snow, and Kirke’s Ice Cream will be on hand.
It’s a rain-or-shine event, which could potentially add even more “fun” for the folks signed up to work the dunk tank.
In conjunction, there will also be an informational fair inside the rec center, with a number of social service groups set up inside the building.
The Talent Show has been running since prior to COVID and has continued thanks to great participation and great turnouts.
The awards ceremony for the talent show will take place at 3:30 p.m., with event headliner Blue Spectrum Band set to perform from 5-7 p.m.
There will also be arts and crafts and bounce houses for the kids.
But Wait, There’s More
Sticking with the themes of community, live music, and, best of all, FREE, the East Richland Evangelical Church is again putting on its Music Under the Stars event.
This is set for Tuesday, August 8 from 5-9 p.m. at the amphitheater.
Food will be available from the Mason Dixon Barbecue Co., Wood Fire Pizza Co., and Kirke’s.
There will also be inflatables, games, and face painting for the kids.
Musical acts will include Sons of Thunder, John Schmid, the Friends Youth Worship Band, Jo Ann Copeland, Nashville recording artist Jayci Gorza and Arise.
This event is open to the public and isn’t limited to the East Richland Friends’ congregation.
