State of City Address Set for July 27

-

Although delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Glenn Elliott will once again host the annual State of the City address at noon, Tuesday, July 27 in the showroom at the Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Elliott said he is looking forward to the event.

“In the past, the event has been held the last Tuesday in February. We couldn’t have it this year because of the pandemic, but we have opted to reschedule it for this later date. I am looking forward to the event. It’s a great way to celebrate what is going on in the city and to recognize contributions made by various people and organizations,” he said.

The State of the City Address is open to the public and there is no cost to attend. Lunch is optional for a fee of $10 if paid at the event (cash or check) or $12 if billed. Reservations should be made by calling (304) 234-6401 or via email at mrejonis@wheelingwv.gov.
