Oglebay Institute’s Stifel Fine Arts Center is now taking applications to exhibit in the annual multi-media exhibition Crosscurrents, on display May 7 – June 27, 2020.
A staple in OI’s art exhibition season for more than 30 years, Crosscurrents showcases some of the finest artwork from the tri-state area.
Artists 18 years or older may apply. Artists may submit works in any medium completed within the last calendar year which have not been previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Exhibition pieces are chosen by a guest juror. The 2020 exhibit will be juried by Rhonda J. Smith. Those gaining entry into the show will also be eligible for cash prizes, including a Best of Show award.
A nonrefundable $25 entry fee entitles each artist to submit up to three entries. The deadline for entries is April 4, 2020.

About the Juror: Rhonda J. Smith
Rhonda J. Smith is a practicing artist and retired professor of art who is committed to advancing processes that explore and redefine what printmaking can be.
She served as chair of the Department of Contemporary Art and Theater for 30 years and coordinator of the BFA Printmaking Program for 26 years at Shepherd University. She remains a master faculty teaching African Art and Printmaking.
Professionally, her work has been exhibited regionally and nationally. Smith has traveled extensively in Europe, Africa, China, Peru, India, and the United States. Her travels and encounters with the art and culture of other peoples drive the themes in her prints. She now works out of her home studio, Middle Bridge Studio, in Washington County, Maryland.
