ThrIVe in Downtown Wheeling Hosting Open House

First a pandemic. Then a streetscape.

Both have deeply debilitated a very daring entrepreneurial venture in downtown Wheeling since ThrIVe opened with five services in 2019. Jessica Barclay and Vanessa Craig opened the super spa mere months before something called Covid shut down everything non-essential.

Then, after a year-and-a-half of operation, the massive, $30 million streetscape began in upper downtown and suddenly parking along Main Street became a bigger issue than it was before.

“It’s been interesting for sure,” said Barclay, who, along with Craig, also own and operated three Play n’ Stay Pet Camp locations. “But we’re still here and we’re growing.”

The expansion of services, in fact, has been impressive and now the health, wellness, and aesthetics spa offers 33 treatments and therapies and will place them on display during an upcoming open house on March 28th from 5-7 p.m.

An office.
When ThrIVe opened in 2019, the super spa offered five different treatments and therapies, but that number has since expanded to 33.

“The people who choose to join us will have the chance to learn what we do with massage, body contouring, and all of the other services we offer,” Barclay said. “And we plan to have a lot of fun while we’re meeting new people and introducing them to what we can do for them. It’s perfectly OK to ask as many questions as you want to make sure it’s something you’d like to do for yourself.

“We’re going to have a lot of tasty bites and custom cocktails, too, and we’ll also have raffles, a bunch of surprises, and giveaways, too,” she explained. “It’s going to feel like a party while also having that educational piece to it all. So, yeah, it’s going to be much more than just an open house and that’s why we are asking people to RSVP.”

The folks at ThrIVe have been working with Good Mansion Wines, the Bellaire Party Center, The Mad Batter Sweet Shoppe, Strike A Pose Photography, and Winz & Reid Digital Marketing Agency in preparation for the “ThrIVe & Unwind” gathering. Parking in a lot located directly across Main Street will be free for one night only.

Barclay said there is no particular time someone needs to arrive because ThrIVe representatives will be available throughout the two-hour event.

“We’re hoping for a lot of consultations so we can explain everything we can do at ThrIVe because there are treatments for hormones, weight loss, facial rejuvenation, skin tightening, and body sculpting,” Barclay explained. “So, we’re putting out there on social media what we feature here so we have more and more people coming to discover things for themselves.

“Everything we do is customized, so all they have to do is come in and see how we can help them,” she said. “One person wouldn’t get the same package as someone else. That’s not how any of this works. It’s very individual and it’s very customizable.”

The open house also will feature special pricing for a number of treatments, including Botox and fillers, massage, and medical weight loss.

“We just want everyone to have a lot of fun, and to earn what we’re all about,” Barclay said. “We started out small and we’ve expanded into a full-service spa, so it’s our goal to educate as many people as possible on March 28th and go from there. We love this community and look forward to meeting as many people as possible.”
