For Women’s History Month, Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library will take a look back at some of our state’s muckrakers and glass-ceiling breakers with Nikki Bowman Mills of WV Living Magazine. This land at the heart of Appalachia has a rich history of strong women. We’re talking about women who’ve shown up in places they were expected to stay away from and spoken up when they were expected to be still—women who’ve made people uncomfortable in defense of family, community, public health, equity, and common sense. This program is a tribute to women like Mother Jones, Belle Boyd, Ma Blizzard, and Wheeling’s own Dr. Harriet Jones.
