Trinity Health System Raises Immunization Awareness for Those Over 50 Years Old

As August draws to a close, Trinity Health System would like to bring attention to National Immunization Awareness Month. National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual observance held in August to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages.

According to a CDC report published in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, routine vaccinations among older adults dropped significantly during the pandemic.

Despite the proven benefits of vaccines, more than 75 percent of adults in the U.S., or three out of four adults, are missing one or more recommended vaccines to protect against influenza, pneumonia, shingles, tetanus, diphtheria, or
pertussis.

As more employees return to the office and summer travel continues, non-COVID-19 infections that fell earlier in the pandemic are expected to rise.

If you have any questions about immunizations, please contact Laurie Labishak, Market Director, Marketing & Communications, at 740-283-7296 or via email laurielabishak@trinityhealth.com, and she will facilitate a conversation with one of our qualified professionals.

Trinity Health System’s qualified professionals would be happy to discuss the importance of routine vaccinations for older adults and those with chronic conditions, as well as the recommended vaccines for adults older than 50 and those with asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and more.

Please also take time to examine the chart below to determine which vaccines you may need.
