W.Va. Gov. Jim Justice, Tourism Sec. Chelsea Ruby Presenting Check for Wheeling Gateway Visitors and Heritage Center

-

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Governor Jim Justice, alongside the West Virginia Secretary of Tourism, Chelsea Ruby,  will formally present a major funding contribution to the Wheeling Gateway Visitors and Heritage Center — the state’s premier and highly anticipated Center along the Interstate 70 corridor.

Hosted by the Wheeling-Ohio County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the media is invited to attend a brief ceremony near the former Wheeling Inn site at 2 p.m., where state and local leaders will gather to celebrate this transformative investment in Wheeling’s future.

The added financial backing from the Governor’s Office and the West Virginia Department of Tourism emphasizes the state’s dedication to strengthening local economies, increasing tourism, preserving cherished historic landmarks, and transforming brownfields into vibrant public spaces for residents and visitors alike.

Media representatives are encouraged to attend Tuesday’s ceremony to capture this pivotal moment. Governor Justice, Secretary Ruby, and the Project Team will be available for questions following the presentation.
