State Treasurer Larry Pack announced today his Office’s Unclaimed Property Division returned more than $30 million worth of funds to individuals, businesses and other organizations since the fiscal year began on July 1, 2024.
“My Office is on track to set a new record for annual unclaimed property returns,” Treasurer Pack said. “We have already surpassed the $28 million that was returned to rightful owners during Fiscal Year 2024. I am thrilled my Office continues to return funds at the fastest pace in state history.”
The Office returned $26.8 million in unclaimed property funds in Fiscal Year 2023. About $18.6 million was returned in Fiscal Year 2022.
During the month of March, the Unclaimed Property Division returned a total of $2,339,158 paid out across 2,451 claims representing 8,681 individual properties.
A monthly record of $8.5 million in unclaimed property was returned in November 2024.
The Office currently has more than $470 million worth of listings in its unclaimed property database.
“This is the people’s money, and we’re working diligently to get it back to them,” Treasurer Pack said. “I encourage everyone to keep checking our unclaimed property data base because you never know if there may be unclaimed property funds in your name.”
