Warwood Community Enters New Chapter with School Split

-

For nearly the last two decades, Warwood School has functioned as one preschool through grade 8 program.

Now, Warwood School announces its official division into two distinctive schools: Warwood Elementary School and Warwood Middle School. While the physical structure of the school remains the same, the reclassification marks a strategic move towards efficiency and personalized learning.

With this change, a streamlined administrative approach will now be in place: the school will have two separate head principals.  Their role will include empowering their staff to make prompt decisions that focus on what’s best for students in their specific age groups.

“What works for a student in grade 3 will be different than what works for a student in grade 8, and Mr. Demarest and I will be able to divide and conquer based on our areas of expertise,” Warwood Middle Principal, Jim Rowing, states.

While the building will now function as two programs, much of what has been happening at Warwood will stay consistent.  Both Warwood Elementary and Warwood Middle School remain dedicated to delivering a high-quality education.  The schools also strive to include the Warwood community in both programs, as the community is essential to the success of the school.

Various community businesses and partners in education will meet at  Both programs will continue to collaborate and seek professional development when applicable.

“This transition allows all of the staff to focus on a smaller group of kids and their academic, behavioral, and developmental needs, in order to maximize students’ potential. Everyone here is ready to get back to work in a more efficient manner,” Warwood Elementary Principal, Robert Demarest states.

The proud tradition and spirit of Vikings Forever will stand as an integral part of both institutions.
