West Liberty, W. Va. – August 12, 2025 – West Liberty University invites alumni, students, families, and friends to the 2025 Homecoming week celebrations.  This year’s theme, “Wild West,” will bring a thrilling touch of frontier fun to the Hilltop.  Homecoming week festivities begin on Saturday, October 18, and conclude on Homecoming Weekend, October 24-25.

This year’s Homecoming will feature milestone reunions for class years ending in 0s and 5s. Special events for those alums include a continental breakfast, commemorative gifts, and tickets to the Homecoming football game. Classes with the highest number of donors and total giving will be recognized in the “Hilltop is Home” fundraising campaign.

The week’s schedule includes traditional WLU Homecoming events such as the pep rally, parade, and Serenades. Homecoming royalty will be crowned at halftime of the football game against Glenville State University on Saturday, October 25. This year’s Wall of Honor inductees and the Impact of Philanthropy awardees will be honored at a banquet on Friday evening.

WLU will cut the ribbon on two new Centers at the University on Thursday, October 23. The Gary E. West Aviation Center will host an open house from 12:00-1:00 that day in Main Hall, and at 2:00, WLU will mark the opening of the Appalachian Aquatic Conservation Center. Dr. Zachary Loughman, Professor of Biology, will deliver a lecture at 3:00 p.m. to explain how the AACC will provide a transformative experience for WLU students and the region.

“Alums and community members are invited tojoin us for a week filled with tradition, excitement, and a bit of Wild West flair,” said Dr. Tim Borchers, WLU President. “We look forward to seeing everyone on the Hilltop in October.”
