WFD Offers Information on Fire on Wheeling Island’s Virginia Street

WHEELING, W.Va
. – Wheeling Firefighters were called to Virginia Street at approximately 9:40 a.m. Monday morning for a reported structure fire.

Crews located the fire in the rear of the home on the first floor and immediately began extinguishing the flames.

Firefighters quickly brought the situation under control, and the occupant was not injured. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Wheeling Fire Department.

B Platoon crews from Engine Co. 2, Engine Co. 4, Engine Co. 5, Ladder 1, Rescue 1 and Squad 2 responded to the scene.
