HYDRANT INSPECTION UPDATE: WFD and the water department are continuing fire hydrant inspections throughout the city. This proactive effort ensures that hydrants and water lines are functioning properly and free of leaks.
Over the next week, inspection crews will be working in the following areas:
➡Downtown
➡East Wheeling
➡South Wheeling
➡Wheeling Island
Inspections will take place Monday through Thursday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. No testing will occur on Fridays or on weekends.
During this process, residents may notice discolored water due to sediment being stirred up in the lines. If this occurs, running cold water until it clears before use is recommended.
