Wheeling Heritage, Ohio County Schools Offer Unique Elective Opportunity for Community

-

For the last several years, History of Wheeling has been a popular elective amongst students at Wheeling Park High School.  For the first time in recent history, the course will now be available for interested community members.

Instructed by 2023 Wheeling Park High School Teacher of the Year, Ryan Stanton, the course will walk participants through Wheeling’s unique history and highlight many of the memorable moments that make up the Wheeling we know and love today.

The course will be offered free of cost thanks to a partnership grant with Wheeling Heritage and Ohio County Schools.  As of print, History of Wheeling will take place the first Saturday of every month beginning in September and finalizing in April.  The initial class will take place in Wheeling Park High School’s Tech 1 classroom on September 7th from 10:00-11:00 A.M.

Participants can register for the course by going to www.tinyurl.com/historyofwheeling. Questions can be directed to Karin Butyn in the Public Relations Office at Ohio County Schools.
