Wheeling Housing Authority (WHA) is proud to welcome the North Wheeling community to an Open House Event from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 99 Main Street.

WHA has completed construction of its new Community Center, North Wheeling Office, and maintenance shop. The rebuild comes after a devastating fire in 2018 destroyed its office at the former Sacred Heart Church.

With the opening of its new building, WHA will again be able to provide a gathering place for North Wheeling residents. “Wheeling Housing Authority is pleased and excited to again be in the North Wheeling community on a daily basis. We hope this space is a blessing in the community.” said Executive Director Joyce Wolen.

A commemorative plaque at the new location reads: This building was completed and dedicated June 28, 2022, in honor of the building that stood here for the North Wheeling Community. It will continue to be a shining memory of Sacred Heart Church as the light gracing the entryway is one from the previous building and commemorates the faith and love of this community.

Site preparation for the new WHA building began in July 2021 with Shaffer Madama (Dennis Madama) overseeing the construction and Colaianni Construction providing contractor services.
