Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack today announced several qualifying events for seats in a $250,000 Guaranteed Summer Deep Stack Great American Poker Tournament taking place in Florida this summer.
The tournament is poised to be the largest collaborative effort within Delaware North’s Gaming division, featuring qualifiers from Gate City Casino in Nashua, N.H., Mardi Gras Casino & Resort in Cross Lanes, W.Va. and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack, in Wheeling, W.Va.
Delaware North is one of the most innovative gaming operators in the United States, specializing in regional venues with slots and video gaming machines, table games, poker rooms, full-service restaurants, retail shops and hotels. The company has gaming destinations in New York, New Hampshire, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, West Virginia and Ohio, in addition to an interactive division that includes mobile sports betting and social casino gaming application development.

The satellite tournaments will be held at Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack on June 22 and 29 and July 6, beginning each day at 1 p.m. Entry fee into the tournament is $150, with $135 going to the prize pool and $15 to an administration fee.
The top players, up to four each day, will receive a prize package valued at $3,000 that includes a $500 seat in the Summer Deep Stack Great American Poker Tournament at Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club, scheduled for July 24-29, 2024.
The Summer Deep Stack tournament is part of the club’s prestigious Great American Poker Tournaments (GAPT) series and promises a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000. Since its inception, Great American Poker Tournaments (GAPT) have quickly become a favorite among local and regional poker players, generating millions in winnings and earning a reputation as one of Florida’s top tournament brands. This year’s Summer Deep Stack event will build on that success, offering players an unparalleled poker experience in a world-class destination.

Additional qualifying events are scheduled at each of the participating locations from mid-June through the beginning of July. Highlights for each event include:
• Gate City Casino (Nashua, N.H.): Sunday, June 23, beginning at 10 a.m., with a $300 buy in. Top four place winners will receive a $500 seat in the Summer Deep Stack tournament in addition to qualifier tournament winnings.
• Mardi Gras Casino & Resort (Cross Lanes, W.Va.): June 19 and 26 and July 10, beginning at 4 p.m. each day, with a $150 buy-in. Top two winners will receive a prize package valued at $3,000 that includes a $500 seat in the Summer Deep Stack tournament.
