Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack’s Game Changer Continues Positive Impact in 2025

-

Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack is proud to announce that its “Game Changer” program has raised a total of $28,636 thus far in 2025 for two local nonprofit organizations—Augusta Levy Learning Center and the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley.

The Game Changer program gives guests and associates an opportunity to support local causes in two ways: guests can donate by placing uncashed casino or racing vouchers into donation boxes throughout the property, and associates can contribute $5 each Friday for the opportunity to wear jeans and a jersey or t-shirt to work. These small, simple gestures continue to make a big difference in the lives of neighbors across the Ohio Valley.

“We’re proud to support two incredible organizations that are doing critical work right here in our community,” said David Morris, Director of Marketing at Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack. “What makes the Game Changer program so special is that every dollar donated stays local. It’s our guests and team members making a direct and meaningful impact in the place we all call home.”

The Augusta Levy Learning Center, which received $10,727, is a pioneering nonprofit dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment to children with autism spectrum disorder. The $17,909 raised for the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley will help fund dozens of community programs, from food assistance and utility support to health services and youth initiatives.

As always, more nonprofit organizations and local charities are earmarked to receive future collections in 2025.

Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack is owned and operated by Delaware North, a global hospitality and entertainment company with a portfolio of regional gaming and entertainment destinations, including Mardi Gras Casino & Resort near Charleston, W.Va.
