Wheeling Park 100th Celebration: Events Kick Off Thursday with Grand Picnic in the Park

Wheeling Park is turning 100 — and the community and local media are invited to join in celebrating a century of recreation, tradition, and community connection.

Beginning Thursday, May 29, Wheeling Park will host a weekend-long celebration packed with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, local art, and special events to honor this centennial milestone.

The celebration kicks off with the Grand Picnic in the Park — an elevated outdoor dining experience with live music, craft cocktails, and gourmet picnic fare for $100 per person. This signature event sets the tone for an unforgettable weekend.

Thursday, May 29 – Grand Picnic in the Park (6 – 9 PM)
Family-style dining, live music by No Bad JuJu, signature drinks, and more.

Friday, May 30 – FunFest Friday (5 – 9 PM)
Presented by Belmont Savings Bank
Live performances by MSM and Eli & the Mojo Kings, concessions, beer garden, family fun zone, and artist market inside the White Palace.

Saturday, May 31 – Centennial Celebration Day (10 AM – 8 PM)

  • 9 AM: King & Queen of the Hill Fun Run
  • 11 AM: Spray & Splash Pad Ribbon Cutting – attendees enjoy free pool admission all day
  • All Day: Artist Market, family fun zone, and live music beginning at Noon through 7:30 PM

Sunday, June 1 – Family Fun Day (9 AM – 4 PM)
Car show (9 AM – Noon), golf scramble, family fun zone, and live music from Noon – 4:30 PM.
