Students and staff members at Wheeling Park High School want potential students and their parents to See What It’s All About.

All About Park and the Wheeling Park High School CTE Open House will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Wheeling Park High School. Students with last names beginning with A-L are invited to attend from 5-6:30 p.m., and students with last names beginning with M-Z are invited to attend 6:30-8 p.m. All About Park and the CTE Open House provide an opportunity for Ohio County Schools eighth graders, private and parochial school students and parents to see the amazing opportunities available to students of Wheeling Park High School. Park’s excellent academic, career and technical, fine and performing arts programs and athletic and extracurricular events will be on display during the event.

The expansive new Innovative Learning Center will also be on display for incoming and potential students. The ILC was unveiled on Jan. 23, and it features collaborative spaces that include makerspaces and flexible seating with the goal of blending academic and 21st century skills in an environment that promotes creativity, collaboration and communication. The ILC at Wheeling Park is the culmination of innovation projects that began in the school system’s elementary schools and continued into the middle schools. All of the skills that students learned in the lower grades can now be utilized by students in the ILC at Wheeling Park High School.

Principal Meredith Dailer said All About Park and the CTE Open House is an exciting introduction into the exceptional opportunities available to students of Wheeling Park High School.

“Wheeling Park High is where students discover their passion,” she said.  “The new Innovative Learning Center is another example of how Park continues to expand to meet the need of its students. We’re proud of what we have to offer our students, and we want families and the community to see it firsthand. There’s something for everyone at Wheeling Park High School. We provide our students with the best programs in West Virginia.”

All About Park is held in conjunction with “Career and Technical Education Month.” Park’s career and tech students will be giving demonstrations in the their simulated workplaces during the event. If you have any questions regarding the event, contact Ohio County Schools Communications Coordinator Gabe Wells at 304-243-0493.
